With a name like Outlaw, you are pretty much guaranteed to be a badass. Chase Outlaw from Hamburg, Arkansas, is flying high after his win this past weekend at the Built Ford Tough Series in Tucson, Arizona. Outlaw had a phenomenal showing at the Take The Money and Ride, presented by the Ak-Chin Indian Community, riding 3 for 3, his first three-ride weekend since January 2015.
Outlaw won the event with a season-high 89.25 points on Chantilly Lace after previously riding Pistol Pete for 86.5 points and Jump Around for 86 points.
The victory in Tucson was Outlaws' first Built Ford Tough Series win since Nashville September 2014. Outlaw has been on the mend due to having two reconstructive shoulder surgeries in the last 18 months, so the win this past weekend was a long time coming for the 24-year-old. Due to his ongoing shoulder injuries, Outlaw has only competed in 19 of the past 52 regular-season events. While some may think the odds were against him, Outlaw still was able to remain in the top ranks of the Built Ford Tough Series when he was healthy and riding.
With the PBR World Finals right around the corner, the 23rd-ranked Outlaw is overflowing with confidence and ambition to see how far he can get in Vegas. Although he knows that a world title is out of the question due to him missing the first half of the season, he is focused on getting his hands on the world finals event championship title. Outlaw is a bit of a dark horse going into the finals, but the chance of him capturing the event championship is certainly not far-fetched.
Before he will nod his head inside the T-Mobile Arena on November 2, Outlaw will begin his week-long stay in Vegas at the BlueDEF Tour Finals on October 29-31 at the South Point Arena. Outlaw is sitting 26th in the BlueDEF standings, but he is only 225.83 points behind Brazilian Emilio Resende, who is leading the pack with 323.33 points.
