Mike and Sherrylynn Johnson are known in the rodeo family as the "power couple." Both Mike and Sherrylynn have qualified numerous times to Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo, and the couple has built a platform for barrel racers and calf ropers alike to better themselves and their craft.

One of those platforms is the Mike Johnson World's Richest Calf Roping and Sherrylynn Johnson Invitational Barrel Race being held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, and Thursday, Dec. 29. Presented by Wrangler, the 22nd annual event takes place at the Expo Square Ford Truck Arena, and cowboys and cowgirls from across the country will all meet with hopes of earning themselves a big check and a coveted championship.

New this year is the chance for the top contestants in the Mike Johnson World's Richest Jr. Calf Roping and Sherrylynn Johnson 3D Jr. Barrel Race to compete on Wednesday and then come back on Thursday to be showcased before the senior-level events.

The Jr. Calf Roping and the 3D Jr. Barrel race features cowboys and cowgirls ages 17 and under, with the WPRA Girl's Open Breakaway being open to all ages. The WPRA Girl's Open Breakaway has $2,000 added, while the Jr. Calf Roping and the 3D Jr. Barrel Race has $1,500 added.

There is $12,000 added to the Mike Johnson World's Richest Calf Roping and $6,000 added to the Sherrylynn Johnson Invitational Barrel Race. In addition, the Jim Perry Wickett Memorial Steer Roping will take place both days with $2,000 added to that.

The excitement begins at 8:30 on Wednesday morning, when you can watch the future of rodeo compete head-to-head. Admission on Wednesday is free, so bring your friends and family!
