RODEO AUSTIN CONTINUES RIDE FOR THE BRAND COWBOY TOURNAMENT
Night 1 of rodeo Austin recap- RODEO AUSTIN CONTINUES RIDE FOR THE BRAND COWBOY TOURNAMENT
Austin, Texas, March 11, 2017 -- Rodeo Austin's innovative Ride for the Brand Cowboy Tournament™ returns March 11-25, 2017, featuring the world's top cowboys and cowgirls. Contestants will compete in a bracket style format for $570,000 in prize money.
The Qualifying Round will take place March 11-22, 2017 and will spotlight eight contestants each night in the bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding events. A total of $230,400 will be split between these 12 performances. The top 16 athletes overall will advance on to the Playoff Round.
As the tournament continues, fans have a chance to anticipate scores, fill in the bracket and predict final winners in all seven rodeo events.
The Playoff Round will take place March 23-24, 2017. Each night, eight athletes compete per event for a total of $140,000. The top eight athletes overall will advance on to the Final Round.
The Final Round will host the top eight athletes from each event, paying out a total of $200,000. The first-place winner of each event will receive a Rodeo Austin branding iron and the title of Champion.
