Northwestern Oklahoma State Leads Men’s Team Standings, While Southern Arkansas Leads Women’s Standings
The men’s side of Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been churning out points left and right in rounds one and two to total 300 team points and sit at No. 1 in the men’s team standings. Their fellow Oklahoman’s are not far behind at 295 points and the No. 2 position for Panhandle State University.
Looking at the women’s team leaderboard, it’s the Southern Arkansas University team in the No. 1 spot with 185 points. Just five points behind, the Gillette College team sits at 180 points after rounds one and two for the No. 2 spot.
With a mix of many different teams leading the way in the individual events, major change-ups throughout the team standings may be in order at the completion of round three tonight.
College Freshman Ty Harris Leads Tie-Down Aggregate By Six Seconds
With just one performance to go now, CISCO college freshman Ty Harris not only leads the way in the aggregate, but his string of eight-second runs all week long means he’s leading by over six seconds on his closest competition. Times on 8.9, 8.6, and the fastest run of the entire CNFR at 8.0 put Harris in at 25.5 seconds on three heading into the final third round performance tonight.
New Record In The Breakaway Roping
Northwestern Oklahoma State University team member Taylor Munsell hadn’t been having the College National Finals Rodeo she had hoped for. Rounds one and two both ended with no times–meaning her chances of making the short-round were gone–but Munsell found another way to make her mark on the 2018 CNFR.
She had nothing to lose when she nodded her head in round three and slung her rope out there in a time of 1.8 seconds, the new record for the CNFR.
Aggregate Leaders Sweat It Out For One More Performance
There is just one performance left to go in the final round of competition at the 2018CNFR and that means the current leaders in the aggregate have just one night to see if they will go into the top 12 short round in the driver's seat.
