The Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall Of Fame unveiled some new cases featuring some of their inductees on the same day the 2019 Ponoka Stampede is set to kickoff.

Cowboys and cowgirls of all ages were in attendance to tell stories about the "good ol' days", good horses, and great times on the rodeo trail. The hall of fame welcomed new exhibits with memorabilia from hall of fame inductees:
Doug (Shakey) Russell - the first Canadian selected to work the CFR as a bullfighter
Fred Duke - 1966 Canadian Champion Tie-Down Roper and Four-time Canadian Cutting Champion
Blake Butterfield - An accomplished steer wrestler, highly sought after hazer, and received the Legendary Achievement award in 2018 from the Hall of Fame.
Lyle Smith - Considered one of the best saddle bronc riders in the world during the 1950's and 60's both North and South of the border.
Wade Joyal - The 1993 and 94 Canadian bull riding Champion and a PBR World Finals and National Finals Rodeo Qualifier.
Rodeo News - Bay stud, owned by Reg and Liz Kessler that earned eight NFR trips and earned the World Champion Saddle Bronc title in 1970.

The Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall Of Fame in the Calnash Arena in Ponoka, Alberta will be open from 9:00AM to 5:00PM for the duration of the Ponoka Stampede. The admittance fee is $5 (12 and under free) for rodeo fans wishing to view the entire hall of fame - including its new exhibits.
