Emily Ward is a quiet person and a quiet rider, and she quietly won the world junior barrel racing title. The Miles, Texas, cowgirl ran two respectable times in the first and second rounds of competition to earn her spot in the top 20 short round, where she ran another respectable time of 14.225. 

It was that quiet consistency is what won this young cowgirl — who gets so nervous she can't event eat before her run — a 2017 Jr NFR world title.
