Jeff Robson Explains Canadian Pro Rodeo Tour’s New Partnership

The Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) announced a new title sponsor that will help support the nine rodeos on the Pro Rodeo Tour in Canada, along with having a presence at other association rodeos. Finning Canada will now be the official sponsor of the tour that includes Wainwright Stampede, Ponoka Stampede, Edmonton’s K-Days Rodeo, Medicine Hat Stampede, Strathmore Stampede, Williams Lake Stampede, Dawson Creek Exhibition, and Stampede and the IPE and Stampede in Armstrong.

CPRA General Manager Jeff Robson pointed out in a press release from the association that this partnership will be a big win for rodeo committees in the association.

“The CPRA partnership with Finning is symbolic of a shift,” Robson said. “An effort to get more money into rodeo communities’ hands. We built the Heart of Rodeo which saw funds move to our rodeo committees; we want to continue to expand on that.”

The rodeos on the tour are responsible for a total of over $1.25 million in prize money for CPRA contestants vying for both the Canadian Finals Rodeo and Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
