Kyle Lucas' Wrap And A Hooey Wins Finning Pro Tour Finals
That wrap and a hooey may make you cringe, but hey, it worked this time! Kyle Lucas’ risk and 8.5-second run earned him the win at the Finning Pro Tour Finals in Armstrong, British Columbia.
The win helped Lucas earn a total of $5,838.52 over the weekend that also included a two-thirds split in Armstrong regular-season tour rodeo. The win puts Lucas' total over $20,000 for the CPRA season and should easily guarantee him a spot in the Canadian Finals Rodeo for 2018.
The 24-year-old also earned enough points to win the tour championship and the spot in the 2019 Calgary Stampede that comes with the title. It will be the young roper's second chance at the rodeo's $100,000 prize after making the four-man round during his first trip to the event this year.
