See The Run That Could Get The Mcleods To Their First CFR
Before this 4.7-second run, Tuftin and Tyce were sitting in the No. 7 and 10 spots in the Canadian Standings, respectively; after this run, the two may be able to count themselves as safe for qualifying for their first Canadian Finals Rodeo.
Last year, the pair broke the team roping season earnings record for the Canadian Cowboys Association — known as a semi-pro association in Canada and a step up from the other amateur rodeo associations because the pros are allowed to cross enter the CCA's regular-season rodeos. This year, they were having a little trouble when Cowboy Christmas rolled around and said they didn't think they could battle their way back into contention for the CFR.
At No. 7 and 10, they may not have been completely safe for a CFR qualification, but the $2,400 they earned for winning the Finning Pro Tour Finals in Armstrong, British Columbia, will go a long way to making sure they have back numbers reserved for them at the 2018 CFR.
