Caleb Smidt Wins The American With His Angels Watching Over Him

The last year or so for Caleb Smidt has been full of success, but it has also been full of tragedy. Smidt's father lost his long battle to cancer last January, and then in a terrible helicopter accident, he lost his brother-in-law and brand-new sister-in-law in November. 

The year has been trying and there were likely times Smidt wanted to give up, but in that time span he's taken home his second world title and a win at RFD-TV's The American. He says he calls on those angels when he needs help, and that gives happy days like yesterday just a little more meaning.
