Michelle Darling's Unusual Decision To Go Second Pays Off In Green Bay Shootout
Usually, if a barrel racer has a choice on which position they would like to run, they pick the top of the ground. Michelle Darling had that choice when she headed into the shootout round of the WCRA's $1 Million Major in Green Bay Wisconsin, but she decided to let fellow shootout competitor Sabra O'Quinn go first.
When O'Quinn knocked a barrel, Darling could have very well safetied up and easily won the title. Maybe it was the noise of the sold-out crowd, maybe it was her competitive spirit, but Darling decided she was going to "send it".
