'It's All About Being Able To Be With The Family' - Kurt Bensmiller

We talk about the concept of the "rodeo family" a lot, but have you heard about the chuckwagon family tree yet? The third night of competition at the Strathmore Stampede was a perfect example of those family ties with driver Kurt Bensmiller battling it out against brother-in-law Vern Nolin in the final heat of racing action. 

After competing, the pair returned to their camps, which were full of kids helping with chores and playing in the trailers, enjoying family time while they tended to their horses. Bensmiller may have won the night with his time a 1:14:12 to lead the aggregate heading into the final day, but the real win is competing in a sport that brings his family together.
