Six-time world champion Cody Ohl has announced he will be hosting his own Jr. Calf Roping Championships, featuring four qualifying ropings beginning in March and finals in December. All qualifying ropings will be three head with a top 10 to the short round.  

The first qualifying roping will be held in Midland, Texas, on March 25-26, and the finals will take place in Sweetwater, TX, on December 1-3.

As we get through this year, we will hopefully add a 21 and under," Ohl said. "There will not ever be an Open roping. We hope to add some matches along the way as well. We are super excited where the future of youth calf roping is headed.

The qualifying ropings will have a 70 percent payback. There will be a $100,000 payout at the finals plus $25,000 in prizes.

Ropers can only have one sport per category at the finals but can move up in age groups.

Qualifying spots will be awarded to the top 10 in the average at each roping, meaning 40 contestants per roping at the finals.

Saddles will awarded to world champions, which will be determined based on season and finals earnings combined. Saddles will also be awarded to average champions at the finals, and buckles to go around winners at the finals.

November 30: Final Qualifier, Sweetwater, TX
December 1-3: Finals, Sweetwater, TX
