The PRCA announced the creation of their Jr. Rodeo Association in a prorodeo.com press release today that will see the next generation of world champions spotlighted at their own Jr. NFR. Young rodeo athletes aged 8-19 are being offered the chance to compete at Jr. Rodeo Association events, learn from the pro’s at clinics, receive accident insurance, and more under the PRCA’s new youth initiative.

The World Champions Rodeo Alliance (WCRA) announced in a press release today the creation of their Youth Division that will give young competitors the opportunity to not only compete in their own league, but also have a chance to qualify for the $1 Million Major events. Starting December 2, 2019 youth aged 13 and up competing in girls breakaway roping, barrel racing, team roping heading and heeling, tie-down roping, and steer wrestling can begin to nominate rodeos in the Virtual Rodeo Qualifier (VRQ) through Division Youth (DY).

Millions of dollars are awarded in the team roping world every fall between the United States Team Roping Championship's National Finals Team Roping in Oklahoma City, OK and the World Series Of Team Roping Finale in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bull riders and bullfighters took over the city of Las Vegas, Nevada last week with many events going on around Sin City. While the "big boys" of the PBR took over the T-Mobile Arena for the PBR World Finals (watch full archives HERE), the Chris Shiver Mini Bull Riders and Short Gorham's American Freestyle Bullfighters took over the South Point Hotel & Casino for four days of their own world finals competition.

We have a big weekend both in Canada and south of the border coming at you! The Canadian Finals Rodeo is underway with the top 12 professionals in the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association battling it out for $1.65 million in prize money.

43 ladies will descend upon Westerner Park today to compete in the first-ever Canadian Finals Breakaway competition. Hundreds of entries poured in for the new finals at qualifiers throughout Canada, but only the top made it through to the "big show". 

From snazzy suit jackets to sequinned silhouettes, the competitors and family members attending the 2019 Canadian Finals Rodeo Night Of Champions in Red Deer, Alberta were dressed to impressed. For the second year since the finals moved to it's new home, the event was filled with sharp-fitting sport coats, starched jeans, fringe, velvet, embroidery, and more hot western trends.

After starting out in the Western world's more refined events like halter, showmanship, and Western pleasure classes, FloRodeo Youth Team member Kenzie Johnson kicked it up a notch and started doing speed events, finding her true passion in the barrel racing and pole bending.

National High School Rodeo Association competitors have been gunning for $100,000 in added cash, $375,000 in scholarships, and $150,000 in prizes all week long, and it all ends tonight. The short round for the NHSFR kicks of at 7:00PM CST tonight with the top 20 in the average will compete for national titles against the best in the US, Canada, and Australia. 

We put out a call to youth rodeo athletes far and wide in search of cowboys and cowgirls who are not only tough competitors inside the rodeo arena, but also great representatives for the sport of rodeo. And let us tell you, the future of rodeo is looking bright—we received 200 applications in three days.
