The World Champions Rodeo Alliance (WCRA) announced in a press release today the creation of their Youth Division that will give young competitors the opportunity to not only compete in their own league, but also have a chance to qualify for the $1 Million Major events. Starting December 2, 2019 youth aged 13 and up competing in girls breakaway roping, barrel racing, team roping heading and heeling, tie-down roping, and steer wrestling can begin to nominate rodeos in the Virtual Rodeo Qualifier (VRQ) through Division Youth (DY).

We’re sure if we asked this cowboy if he’s ever thought about doing anything other than rodeo, he’d look at us like we were speaking a different language.

After starting out in the Western world's more refined events like halter, showmanship, and Western pleasure classes, FloRodeo Youth Team member Kenzie Johnson kicked it up a notch and started doing speed events, finding her true passion in the barrel racing and pole bending.

Cowboy Christmas may be over, but we’re not slowing down on FloRodeo with this HUGE listing of events for the next two weekends. Not only can you watch top events from the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association, World Professional Chuckwagon Association, and the Professional Bull Riders association, but you can also go back and watch all of the archives from Cowboy Christmas (and beyond).

We put out a call to youth rodeo athletes far and wide in search of cowboys and cowgirls who are not only tough competitors inside the rodeo arena, but also great representatives for the sport of rodeo. And let us tell you, the future of rodeo is looking bright—we received 200 applications in three days.

Cowboy Christmas is upon us and we can hear those bells jingling—or are those spurs ringing? Either way, the most wonderful time of the rodeo year is here, and we’ve packed the next two weeks with presents like the CPRA’s Finning Pro Tour stops at the Wainwright Stampede, Ponoka Stampede, and Williams Lake Stampede; Guy Weadick Days in High River; and the National Junior High School Finals Rodeo.

This season, FloRodeo is offering more youth rodeo competition than ever with nearly 15 premier youth rodeo events from the National Little Britches Finals and International Youth Finals Rodeo, as well as the National High School and Junior High Finals and many state finals competitions, not to mention jackpots with hundreds of youth competitors as well.

Some of our premier Youth Rodeo events kick off this weekend on FloRodeo, along with a PBR Canada event featuring the association’s top-tier athletes in the country.

Having siblings in rodeo means you always have a built-in practice buddy, sometimes a critic, and always a great fan cheering you on. Brothers Briar and Blair Mabry have exactly that as both boys successful hit the National Little Britches and National High School/Junior High rodeo trails as travel companions, team roping partners, and rivals. 

The Rank has already expanded its efforts to find the next generation of top rodeo athletes this year by adding all of the approximately 500 National Little Britches Rodeo Association season rodeos to its calculations, but we’re going even bigger now! The Rank is about finding the best, no matter where they rodeo, so FloRodeo wants to recognize youth competitors in both the National Junior High School and High School Rodeo Associations by tracking both the state/provincial finals and national finals results in 2019.
