After starting out in the Western world's more refined events like halter, showmanship, and Western pleasure classes, FloRodeo Youth Team member Kenzie Johnson kicked it up a notch and started doing speed events, finding her true passion in the barrel racing and pole bending.

Like many rodeo competitors, it all started with that one special horse. It may not have been the first one they got on, but it was the first one that took them to the winner's circle and let them have a taste of what it’s like to be a champion. 

She's closing in on 10 all-around state and world titles, and she's only 15 years old.

Some of the best youth rodeo athletes in the world graced the famous Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, July 10-15 to compete for world titles at the National Little Britches Rodeo Association Finals. We're throwing it back this Thursday to some of the best shots as competitors battled it out in the short round to see who would walk away victorious.

For many rodeo kids out there, the first person you compete against when you start getting ready to rodeo is your sibling. Your home arena may play host to hundreds of Cheyennes, Calgary Stampedes, and NFRs where siblings battle it out and learn how to be competitive. 

From the first season the two got together, Sulphur, Louisiana’s Brooklyn Gunter and a bay mare named Blaze have been unstoppable at the International Finals Youth Rodeo in Shawnee, Oklahoma. They won the pole bending at IFYR in 2016, then came back to win it all over again in 2017.
