The bull rider from Moctezuma, Sonora, Mexico came to Canada six years ago, but 2019 marks the first year he was able to qualify for the Canadian Finals Rodeo. For one reason or another, Edgar Durazo just couldn't get down the rodeo trail until all the stars aligned in 2019 and he was able to rodeo full time. And rodeo he did. Durazo won the largest rodeos in Canada, became the CPRA's Finning Pro Tour Champion, the 2019 Permit champion, and the 2019 season leader.

He won the coveted Canadian tie-down roping title in 2017, becoming the first Canadian to win the event since Al Bouchard took the title in 2009. But shortly after winning Canada's highest rodeo honor, Bird was in a car accident that could have taken his life. True champions never take their focus off of their goals though. When we interviewed Bird just a couple weeks after the accident (Read the story HERE) he had already set goals to get back into competing shape. Now, nearly two years later and two more Canadian Finals Rodeo qualifications under his belt since the accident, Bird has the goal of winning another Canadian title.
She's heading into her third Canadian Finals Rodeo... and she's only 15 years old. Taylor Manning is the very definition of a young phenom in the sport of rodeo.

On paper, fast times and high scores are what make a Canadian champion, but in reality, it took a heck of a lot more. So we're paying homage to the competitors that had enough physical ability, mental strength, and that little bit "extra" that earned them Canadian championships at the 2018 Canadian Finals Rodeo.

It took one plate and nine screws to repair Jason Thomas' arm when he broke it in the practice pen more than a year ago. After having to take a year off, battle through the pain and rehabilitation, making the CFR just proves that this isn't some crazy dream for the 2017 Canadian Champion steer wrestler; he was meant to do this.
