Saddle bronc rider Kolby Wanchuk has been coming to the Canadian Finals Rodeo his entire life, dreaming of one day sliding onto a bronc in the bucking chutes. Not only did Wanchuk live out that dream by earning his first CFR qualification in 2019, but he topped that dream off by winning round two with an 85.5-point score.

The Vold Rodeo horse Mucho Dinero usually means "mucho money" for any cowboy that has the pleasure of riding the big grey for eight seconds. That was exactly the case for bareback rider Spur Lacasse when he drew the horse in the opening round of the 2019 Canadian Finals Rodeo, winning the round with a score of 87.25 and climbing from No. 6 to No. 3 in the Canadian title race.

When Justine Elliott made her first run for the alley at the 2018 Canadian FInals Rodeo, her rookie nerves may have gotten the best of her and caused her to hit a barrel. She wasn't going to let that happen again in 2019. Elliott took came into round one of the 2019 Canadian Finals Rodeo as the No. 1 barrel racer and - after winning the round with her time of 14.510 - that's where she'll stay heading into night No. 2.
He may be a rookie in both the CPRA and PRCA, but this rookie looked anything but in the opening round of the 2019 Canadian Finals Rodeo. The young Montana cowboy had ice in his veins - not just outside - in round one of the CFR when he won the day with his time of 8.2 seconds on a larger pen of calves.
One of the most exciting stories leading into the 2019 Canadian Finals Rodeo was that of Edgar Durazo - the first Mexican-born competitor to ever qualify for Canada's pinnacle rodeo event.
