Shane Hanchey Is On The Hunt For Third Canadian Tie-Down Title
He's already won two go-rounds and climbed to the No. 1 position in Canada. Can Shane Hanchey hold onto his lead and win his third Canadian title?
He’s a world champion, two-time Canadian champion, and he likes the sound of “three.” Shane Hanchey is on the hunt for a third Canadian title at the 2018 Canadian Finals Rodeo in Red Deer, Alberta.

His 7.8-second time in round one meant he was one step closer to making that a reality — but season leader Riley Warren also turned in a time of 7.8 seconds to tie the world champ. Hanchey fired back in round two though, posting a time of 7.4 seconds to win the round.
The third evening of competition saw a slightly slower time of 8.4 but still earned the second and third place check. Those three times all come together to sit him in the No. 1 position in the aggregate by two seconds.
Hanchey's earnings so far have moved the Louisiana cowboy from the No. 5 spot coming in, to make him the one everyone is chasing. Can he hold on to that lead to win his third title on Canadian soil?
