The last year or so for Caleb Smidt has been full of success, but it has also been full of tragedy. Smidt last his father to cancer that he had been fighting several years last January, and then in a terrible helicopter accident, he lost his brother-in-law and brand-new sister-in-law in November. The year has no-doubt been trying and there were most-likely times he wanted to give up, but in that time span he's taken home his second world title, and a win at RFD-TV's The American. He says he calls on those angels when he needs them for help, and that makes happy days like yesterday have just a little more meaning.
High school student Madison Outhier might be finding it a little bit difficult to focus on her schoolwork today while she thinks about her oversized check written in the amount of $110,000 from RFD-TV's The American.
Coleman Proctor and Ryan Motes just couldn't stop smiling, laughing, and yes, singing, over the payday they earned at RFD-TV's The American. The pair - who are both past NFR cowboys but didn't earn an invite for being within the top 10 in the world in 2018 - had to battle their way through the qualifying rounds, but that meant they also had a shot at the million dollar bonus.
Orin Larsen took home the $100,000 at RFD-TV's The American in the bareback riding yesterday in an event that he couldn't say enough about the horsepower and cowboy-power he was up against. He says what fans saw at AT&T Stadium was a riding contest - not a drawing contest - due to the high caliber of horses in the mix.
