She was a good draw, but as Garrett Shadbolt explains, Jesse's Girl fought back tonight. It was nothing a chance at a million dollars at AT&T Stadium won't fix though.
There's one word Lari Dee Guy used to describe most of her experience at 2019 The American, and it's simply, "blessed".
The timed events become a marathon at RFD-TV's The American when contestants can have multiple qualifications that they have to try push through the slack rounds, buybacks, the semifinals long round and shootout, all before they get the opportunity to set foot in AT&T Stadium. JD Struxness called it "survival mode" and after making it through the shootout round with a time of 4.09, we'd say he's surviving just fine.
Spencer Mitchell and Russell Cardoza break down their 4.13 second run in the shootout round of The American.

We've been following Bridger Anderson since he was 18 and the now 20-year-old says he feels like he's matured and ready to win something at The American.
Trevor Brazile announced he would only be going to a select number of rodeos in the 2019 season in an effort to spend more time with his family. Now that RFD-TV's The American is sanctioned under the PRCA and will have part of it's prize money count towards the world standings, could a win here mean the King Of The Cowboys could still qualify for the NFR on far fewer rodeos than his usual season?
She still thinks about those runs all the time. It came together perfectly and earned the WPRA Rookie of the Year title at 2018 The American. Can Taci Bettis do it again in 2019?

Australian bronc rider Jake Finlay is splitting the lead in the saddle bronc with Canadian Jake Watson. Both riders have matching 86.25 point scores that will secure each of them a spot in the semifinals shootout and another chance to qualify to win a million dollars this weekend - a check Finlay says he would send part of home.
This NFR competitor is splitting the lead in RFD-TV's The American semifinals after the first performance and slack, thanks to his good draw from C5 Rodeo. Watson and Rockstar earned 86.25 points today during the slack to tie leader from performance one, Jake Finlay. They'll both wait for the semifinals shootout round where they'll be trying to have one of the highest six scores in the aggregate and move onto AT&T Stadium.
Marty Yates is used to making sub-seven second runs at AT&T Stadium, but what he's not used to is having this much of a warm up to do it. For the first time in his history of competing at RFD-TV's The American, Yates did not earn an invite straight into the finals and has had to make his way through the qualifying process. So far, he's holding on to one of those top 16 spots that will move onto the semifinals shoot out performances, and his chances of also competing for $1 million for the first time (a benefit of not being invited) is still alive.
